Community Meeting on June 11 - 7:00 pm

After five years of steady, behind-the-scenes work, we’re excited to share updates on Harvest Crossing with the community.

All are welcome to a Community Meeting on Wednesday, June 11 at 7:00 PM at the United Church of Underhill. Whether you’re curious about how the project started, want to learn more about what's next, or are interested in volunteering or applying for a future home, this evening is for you.

What’s Happening at the Meeting?

  • A 20-minute presentation on where we've been and where we’re headed

  • An open Q&A to connect with the project team and get your questions answered

  • Info from Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity on how to volunteer and how to apply for homeownership

A Quick Review:

Harvest Crossing is a partnership between the United Church of Underhill and Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHfH), with the goal of building a small, clustered community of affordable homes in Underhill. The plan includes six single-family homes and one duplex, built for — and with — working families in our community. All homes will remain permanently affordable through Habitat's model.

Future homeowners will go through GMHfH’s selection process, and the homes will be energy-efficient, simple, and welcoming — a place to grow roots.

How Did We Get Here?

Over the past five years, our volunteer team has been hard at work securing funding, navigating land use regulations and requirements, and making the dream a reality. Some major milestones include:

  • Funding from the Vermont Community Development Program, the Town of Underhill (via ARPA funds), a HUD grant from Senator Sanders’ office, and many generous private donors

  • Preliminary approval from Underhill’s Development Review Board (DRB) after several rounds of engineering work and meetings

  • A major implementation grant from the Vermont Community Development Program to support infrastructure work

Let’s Build This Together

We believe that affordable homeownership builds stronger communities — and that starts with all of us. Whether you want to get involved, stay informed, or just support a good cause, we hope you’ll join us.
