Volunteers Help Build

Seven church and community members joined the Habitat for Humanity building crew to begin framing two of the three houses. In just one day, four walls were installed!

The crew included many “regulars”—experienced carpenters who have built together on other Habitat for Humanity homes. They patiently showed the newcomers how to use some of the tools, how insulated walls get water barriers, and how door and window frames are constructed.

These volunteers drove from Shelburne, Milton, and beyond to lend a hand with construction here in Underhill. Their experience, encouragement, and willingness to teach made it a wonderful day of teamwork and learning.

And the work continues! The crew will be building on Tuesdays and Thursdays, rain or shine (though thunderstorms will keep everyone safely off the site).
